It is hard to believe, but school will be out for the summer in less than a month! This year has flown by! Students finished the OAA testing, and we want to thank all of our students and parents who sent in breakfast for everyone. It was greatly appreciated! We are now waiting for the release of the test scores, which will be sometime during the summer.
Our students are busy wrapping up the school year in all classes. Please encourage your student to stay focused as we still have several weeks to finish curriculum, including tests and quizzes, projects, and homework. It is pretty hard to have "spring fever" in Ohio, especially when it is almost the middle of May and still in the 40's some days, but there are days when we all experience the "fever".
The last day to check out library books was May 10, and final returns are due on or before May 24. Students who have misplaced a library book will need to pay for the book prior to the end of school.
Students will be asked to check lockers at school and at home for missing library or classroom library books, textbooks, or other items from school in the coming weeks. Many textbooks are missing from classrooms and we need them returned ASAP.
Congratulations to our sixth grade students who chose to read at least 2 books written by Shelley Pearsall to participate in the Reading Festival, which will be held on Monday, May 13. The author is from the area, and will attend part of the day's activities.
Warm days are ahead and many activities are planned as we finish our school year. Students should continue to follow the dress code, especially now that warmer weather is coming. Some items that should not be worn to school are shorts, skirts, or dresses that are not at least mid-thigh, spaghetti straps, or muscle shirts.
Memorial Day is only a few weeks away!
