Principal's Message
The 2009-2010 school year is quickly progressing with the third grading period ending March 26 meaning there will be 35 days left for graduating seniors and 43 days left for underclassmen. Good activities continue to abound at Schnee throughout the year; to name a few:
Block Schedule—students are having great academic success under the new block schedule. Students claim they are more focused and are accomplishing more under this schedule;
Fall Recognition—57 students were recognized at a luncheon in the fall for abiding by Schnee’s MOSAIC (“Molding Our Students to be Accepting, Insightful, and Compassionate”). Great jobs, students!;
Destination College—eight Schnee students are participating in this year-long program to prepare them for entrance into college under the direction of Mrs. Cariño, Schnee’s counselor;
AM vs PM Basketball Games—The morning students battle the afternoon students for a winning score as the student body cheers their team on. The last basketball game, which went in three overtime periods, raised money for the Haiti Relief Fund.
Building Leadership Team-Members continue to meet and to work on the action plan for Schnee’s improvement initiative.
Career Fair—Mrs. Bednar & Mr. Villilo coordinated this year’s successful Career Fair held on March 5. Career & JOG class students even participated in a “What Not to Wear” and “What to Wear” presentation.
Upcoming Fundraiser—Schnee along with Dr. Martucci will sponsor a spaghetti fundraiser on April 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. for a former student whose house was severely damaged by fire. This student attended Schnee but transferred to the Falls High School at semester. Check the website for more details. Flyers and tickets will be distributed in the near future.
Graduation—Graduation will be held at Cuyahoga Falls Auditorium on Wednesday,
June 2. Look for more details on Schnee’s website.
Students, have a good remainder of the year. Remember to keep working diligently to earn those credits.
Mrs. Cardone
