Principal's Message

March 4, 2013

We have turned the calendar page to March, but have we turned the corner to Spring? I think, based on the forecast for the next few days, the answer to that question is "no"! However, spring is quickly approaching and will be here before we know it.

With spring comes mud, the end of the third quarter, tornado drills, and Ohio Achievement Assessments! That is quite a mix! So...here are a few reminders for everyone as we approach the spring season at Preston!

*Mud -- Make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather. We will go outside whenever possible and sometimes children mistake the sun for warmth.

*End of the Third Quarter - It is hard to believe that we will end quarter 3 right before Spring Break on March 22! Students need to keep up the momentum as we continue to work hard to make at least one year's growth!

*Tornado Drills - In preparation for tornado season, we will be conducting tornado drills each month, beginning with the county-wide drill on March 6.

*Ohio Achievement Assessments - Tests will be given in April for grades three through five in reading and math, as well as in grade five for science. More information is coming soon!

As we look forward to brighter days in Northeast Ohio, let's keep working together to show that Preston students are positively awesome and wonderful students!
